Lab Assistant – Reading – 6  Months - £17.84 Umbrella

The role as Technician is to be responsible for performing a range of routine activities to support effective completion of analyses and meet the customer’s contractual agreements. Perform lab admin and housekeeping activities, sample preparation and management, basic routine analysis and work in accordance with the UKAS and  quality standards within the Food Sciences laboratory.

Duties are to provide a high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organization of assigned workload, integrity of data general and timely/accurate provision of results. Perform a range of basic routine tasks and sample preparation under supervision of senior member of staff. Operate basic lab equipment, perform tasks following SOP, calibration, produce reliable and accurate data, be competent using generic software packages ie LIMS, Q Pulse etc.

Candidates will have a scientific understanding of basic lab equipment, have excellent customer service with good written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, self motivated and good IT skills.
